About Us

What We Do

At Pitt

During meetings, members of W.I.P. actively engage with one another in small groups to discuss current political occurrences. In this process, women and female-presenting persons are encouraged to share their knowledge about the subject and work together as a team to brainstorm ways that the organization can involve themselves and help the situation. We encourage all members to use their voices and practice public speaking and communication methods that will prepare them for skills needed in their professional lives. To aid in the facilitation of these abilities, local female politicians will join us during the meetings to speak with members, give them insight into the political sphere, and encourage them in their intellectual pursuits.

In the Community

It is important that W.I.P. engages frequently with the community. This participation can come in the form of: activism, protesting, volunteering, raising money, etc. There are a multitude of political and social programs that can use the Pitt community's help to keep these programs alive and active. Community engagement and what type members decide to do will depend on current political events, so new forms of participation are always encouraged!
